 We should lead world

We should lead world

THE world and its economy relies on the delicate balance of nature to function: clean air, water and healthy soil is essential.

The US and China may be the worst polluters, but Australia should still act and show the world the best way forward.

After all, Australia is, I believe, the worst greenhouse polluter per capita.

The Rudd Government did the right thing by signing the Kyoto Protocol soon after being elected.

The Federal Opposition is trying to make up its mind on an emissions trading scheme policy.

The Opposition gives the impression of wanting to stall Australia's response to the climate change threat.

There is only one Earth.

I watched a new documentary last night, called "A Crude Awakening - The Oil Crisis." About the fast depletion of oil reserves, and I noted on the graph they showed predicting oil almost all gone by 2050, and how perfectly the graph fit with global government plans to cut carbon emissions by 80% or more by that time.
