Crusade to form a Squadron to cheer on teams
Crusade to form a Squadron to cheer on teams

KNIGHTS and Jets supporters are brothers in arms.
Fans of each club can live side by side and sit together, prominent members of the Squadron and The Crusade, Andrew Dezelak and Shane Spruce, said.
Mr Spruce, leader of the Knights' official cheer squad, The Crusade, said it was possible to consolidate the relationship between the two groups and boost support for both teams.
To do this The Crusade is offering 30 tickets to Squadron members for this weekend's season opener against the Raiders.
"In light of increasing goodwill between the clubs, we are looking to carry that on and turn everyone, not into Knights or Jets supporters, but into Newcastle supporters," he said.
Mr Spruce said the Squadron had done a fantastic job supporting the Jets in what was a breakthrough season and was keen to learn from them in building a large, vocal cheer squad for the Knights.
Foundation Squadron member and organiser Mr Dezelak said there was room for people to support both teams and be proud of Newcastle.
"The rise of the Jets gives people the opportunity to go to sport all year round," he said.
"There seems to be a spirit of co-operation at club level.
"If we can replicate that at supporter level then it bodes well for Newcastle."
Newcastle supporters who want to sit with The Crusade can buy seats in their area through Pro-Ticket.
